Proxy Network explained
A proxy network routes requests through other machines so the destination sees the proxy's address instead of the real origin. Engagement services use them to hide that thousands of actions come from one place, and residential proxies are prized because they borrow addresses from ordinary home connections. The technique defeats simple address blocking but not behavioural analysis, since the timing, the account histories, and the listening patterns stay the same. It also raises an ethical issue that rarely appears in marketing copy: much residential proxy capacity comes from consumer apps that resell their users' bandwidth.
