Bulk Follow
Category: Music Marketing
What is Bulk Follow?
Following large numbers of accounts quickly in the hope that a share of them follow back.
Bulk Follow explained
Bulk following is the oldest growth hack on social platforms. The logic is that if you follow a thousand accounts and three percent reciprocate, you gain thirty followers per round. It still produces numbers, and it still produces the wrong ones: the accounts that follow back out of politeness rarely listen, so the follower count grows while plays per release stay flat. Platforms also treat rapid following as an automation signal, and it is one of the easiest patterns to detect because human browsing simply does not look like that.
Why Bulk Follow matters for independent artists
Understanding Bulk Follow helps you make better promotion decisions on SoundCloud and other streaming platforms. On Reposter Network, artists apply concepts like this every day when they trade real plays, likes and reposts with other musicians instead of buying fake engagement.
