Account Strike

Category: Soundcloud

What is Account Strike?

A formal warning recorded against an account for breaking platform rules, which escalates toward suspension when repeated.

Account Strike explained

An account strike is the record a platform keeps when it decides an account broke its rules. On SoundCloud strikes commonly follow artificial engagement, aggressive follow and unfollow behaviour, repetitive comment spam, or copyright complaints. A single strike often produces nothing more than reduced distribution, but strikes accumulate. Consequences escalate from lower reach, to restricted features such as commenting or messaging, to loss of monetization eligibility, and eventually to suspension. Strikes usually age out over time, which is why pausing risky activity is the correct response rather than trying to outrun it with more activity.

Why Account Strike matters for independent artists

Understanding Account Strike helps you make better promotion decisions on SoundCloud and other streaming platforms. On Reposter Network, artists apply concepts like this every day when they trade real plays, likes and reposts with other musicians instead of buying fake engagement.
