Feature Verse
Category: Music Marketing
What is Feature Verse?
A guest contribution, usually a verse or vocal part, added to another artist's track under an agreed credit and split.
Feature Verse explained
A feature verse is a section of a track, often a verse, hook or vocal line, recorded by an artist other than the main credited creator of the release. Features are one of the most common forms of collaboration on SoundCloud because they let two artists combine audiences without either party needing to produce a full joint release. A feature is usually credited as 'Artist A featuring Artist B' and comes with its own agreement about payment, royalty split and promotional responsibilities. Getting the terms of a feature confirmed in writing before recording avoids later disputes about credit or earnings.
Why Feature Verse matters for independent artists
Understanding Feature Verse helps you make better promotion decisions on SoundCloud and other streaming platforms. On Reposter Network, artists apply concepts like this every day when they trade real plays, likes and reposts with other musicians instead of buying fake engagement.
