API Quota

What is API Quota?

The total number of requests an application may send to a platform's interface within a period, usually a day.

API Quota explained

An API quota is the daily or hourly budget a platform grants to an application. Where a rate limit controls speed, a quota controls total volume. Any tool that acts on behalf of many users has to divide that budget between them, which is the real reason legitimate promotion platforms impose per-user daily caps. Exceeding a quota results in rejected requests for everyone using the application, and repeated abuse can end in the application losing access entirely. Understanding quotas explains why honest services deliver steadily rather than instantly.

Why API Quota matters for independent artists

Understanding API Quota helps you make better promotion decisions on SoundCloud and other streaming platforms. On Reposter Network, artists apply concepts like this every day when they trade real plays, likes and reposts with other musicians instead of buying fake engagement.
