What is Future House?
Future house combines melodic leads, punchy basslines, and sophisticated sound design, creating an accessible yet musically interesting electronic sound.
Future House explained
Future house crystallized as a genre around 2014-2015, pioneered by artists like Tchami, Oliver Heldens, and Don Diablo. The sound is characterized by clear, melodic leads, distinctive bass sounds (often described as 'rubbery' or 'organ-like'), and polished production that bridges the gap between underground and mainstream. Future house's accessibility has made it successful on streaming platforms and radio while maintaining credibility in club contexts. The genre rewards production polish and musical sensibility, making it attractive for artists with pop music backgrounds entering electronic music. Labels like CONFESSION and Heldeep have built significant catalogs around the sound.
